Recollective Awareness Meditation is a flexible, gentle approach to Buddhist meditation that offers an authentic way to investigate your inner world. By exploring your meditation experiences, you naturally cultivate self honesty, awareness and beneficial states of consciousness.

Meditation is often prescribed with the hope that patients and clients will be able to manage their relationship to stress, pain, and strong emotions in their lives. In these workshops we will explore meditation instructions for individuals and address some common myths about meditation, and  discuss results which come from prescribed practices. Through meditative reflection and in group discussion, beliefs can be examined about what conditions lead to positive change in life and how you understand your role in impacting these conditions.  Recollective Awareness Meditation enables health professionals and therapists to better utilize their inner world during their work with clients and patients and is also effective for self care.

These workshops are experiential and there will be several meditation sittings throughout the day interspersed with discussion and listening to others in the group around meditation experiences. This workshop is appropriate for professionals who are new to meditation as well as experienced meditators; for those who integrate mindfulness practices into their orientation and those who do not.

The Skillful Meditation Project Teaching Sangha consists of a group of meditators who are committed to the practice, study and teaching of the approach to meditation called Recollective Awareness. We have all been trained under the direction of Jason Siff and have worked together for a number of years to develop our skills in leading meditation groups and working with individuals. Recognizing that both practice and teaching are ongoing, we have chosen to reflect this in our training process. Rather than defining an end to the training, we maintain an affiliation with SMP and are involved in continuing study with one another and with Jason and Jacquelin Siff.

Linda Modaro is currently a teacher with the Skillful Meditation Project and teaches individuals, groups, workshops and retreats devoting her time and attention to individual personal development through meditation. In addition, she maintains a private practice in Acupuncture and Herbology in Santa Monica, CA.
