Skillfull Meditation Project

Mary Webster

Two of the consistent interests in my life have been a curiosity about the workings of the mind and a desire to be of service to others. By choosing a career in mental health nursing, I have been able to pursue these interests. I received a Masters Degree in this field in 1975 and have been practicing and/or teaching ever since.

My meditation practice began in 1996 when I attended a retreat with Jason Siff. Both Recollective Awareness meditation and Jason’s teachings on the dharma resonated with me immediately. I entered the Skillful Meditation Project teacher training in 2001 in order to deepen my practice and understandings.

I currently lead weekly Recollective Awareness meditation sitting groups in Spokane, Washington for adults as well as teens. I also lead or co-lead quarterly retreats with other SMP sangha teachers and offer one-day workshops. I welcome invitations to teach in the Northwest. I am the resident teacher for the Spokane Vipassana Meditation Community and presently serve on the Skillful Meditation Project board of directors.
